IAHC Generic Top Level Domains

These seven generic top level domains have been proposed as an extension to the current top level domain system by the Internet International Ad Hoc Committee. Information on the current status of the proposal can be obtained at the Generic Top Level Domain Memorandum of Understanding web site.

As of August 12, 1999, the gTLD-MoU Policy Oversight Committee notes that «despite a multi-year effort involving the United States Government and ICANN, little progress has been made in the core issue» and «those who are interested in the availability of new top level domains should not expect any availability in the 1999/2000 2nd quarter time frame and perhaps much longer.»
